Clay Named Superintendent of AMERICAN's Ductile Iron Pipe Department

John Clay has been named superintendent of the ductile iron pipe department at AMERICAN Cast Iron Pipe Company (AMERICAN).

Clay joined AMERICAN in 1982 as a process control engineer. He was appointed assistant superintendent of ductile iron pipe in 2000.

Clay holds a bachelor’s degree in metallurgical engineering from the University of Alabama. He is a member of the American Foundry Society and past chairman of the Birmingham chapter.

Founded in 1905, Birmingham-based AMERICAN is a manufacturer of ductile iron pipe, fire hydrants and valves for the waterworks industry and electric-resistance steel pipe for the oil and natural gas industry.
