AMERICAN Cast Iron Pipe Company Acquires C&B Piping

AMERICAN Cast Iron Pipe Company has acquired C&B Piping, Inc., a manufacturer and supplier of ductile iron and steel piping systems headquartered in Leeds, Alabama. C&B, with locations in Gilbert, Arizona, and Amherst, Virginia, specializes in pipe fabrication, linings and coatings of ductile iron and steel products.

“C&B is an excellent fit for AMERICAN,” said AMERICAN President & CEO J. C&B will continue to be a top provider of products and services in the water and wastewater treatment plant market.”

C&B will operate as an independent subsidiary of AMERICAN under the continued leadership of C&B President Stephen Gables. C&B, formerly a family-owned business, was founded in 1986. The company now employs approximately 215 people across its three facilities.

Founded in 1905 in Birmingham, Alabama, AMERICAN is a manufacturer of fire hydrants, valves, ductile iron pipe and spiral-welded steel pipe for the waterworks industry and high-frequency-welded steel pipe for the energy and carbon capture industries. AMERICAN’s diversified product line also includes fire pumps, structural casing and piling, castings for large machinery, and specialty rubber products.

Janney Montgomery Scott served as financial advisor to C&B in the transaction, and Bradley Arant Boult Cummings LLP served as counsel to C&B. Burr & Forman LLP served as counsel to AMERICAN.
