4"-12" Series 3500 RW Gate Valves (350 psig)

4"-12" Series 3500 Resilient Wedge NRS Gate Valves with Flanged Ends

The AMERICAN Series 3500 Ductile Iron Resilient Wedge Gate Valve is rated for 350 psig. It has been designed for use in drinking water, sewage and fire protection systems, as well as other applications that might require higher pressures than those offered in the traditional 250 psig rated AMERICAN Series 2500 gate valve. The Series 3500 Resilient Wedge Gate Valve is available in configurations that are UL Listed and FM Approved at 350 psig. The valve uses the same parts as those used in the Series 2500 Resilient Wedge Gate Valve, so the specifier can feel confident in knowing the valve is the same dependable design the industry has come to know and trust.

The Series 3500 Ductile Iron Resilient Wedge Gate Valve has these standard features:

  • Fully complies with ANSI/AWWA C515 and is rated at 350 psig.

  • UL Listed and FM Approved at 350 psig, in applicable configurations

  • Certified to NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 and NSF/ANSI/CAN 372

  • Fusion-bonded epoxy coating complies with ANSI/AWWA C550

  • Smooth waterway design

  • 100% leak-tight closure

  • Triple O-ring Stem Seals

  • Thrust washers above and below thrust collar to provide for easier operation

  • All ductile iron construction

  • Fusion-bonded epoxy coating on the interior and exterior

  • O-ring style gaskets

Specifications

Valves 4"-12" in size shall be of a resilient wedge design. The valve shall have a cold water rated working pressure of 350 psig. All cast ferrous components shall be ductile iron and shall be manufactured in compliance with the latest edition of ANSI/AWWA C515. The valve shall also be UL Listed and FM Approved in applicable configurations at 350 psig. The valve design shall be lightweight, easy to handle, and constructed with wall thickness per Table 2 of ANSI/AWWA C515. Heavy wall and/or cast gray iron bodies are not acceptable. The valve shall have a smooth and oversize waterway and shall have a ductile iron designation on the body. The valve wedge shall be constructed of ductile iron and provided with protective covers on the wedge guides in sizes 4"-12". All wedges shall be encapsulated with EPDM rubber. The valve shall be Certified to NSF 61 and NSF 372.

Valve stems shall be sealed by three O-rings. Two of the O-rings shall reside above the thrust collar. O-rings set in a cartridge shall not be allowed. The valve shall also be equipped with thrust washers above and below the stem thrust collar for reduction of operating torque.

All exterior valve body bolting shall be Type 304 stainless steel and shall be provided with hexagonal heads, with dimensions conforming to ANSI B18.2.1. Metric size and/or socket head cap screws or bolts are not allowed. The operating nut shall be 2" square and shall be constructed of ductile iron fitted to a square tapered stem to help ensure even valve operating input torque. All body gaskets shall be of the pressure energized O-ring style design.

All internal and external ferrous cast surfaces of the valve body and bonnet shall have a fusion-bonded epoxy coating, complying with ANSI/AWWA C550. The coating shall be electro-statically applied prior to assembly.

All valves shall be the AMERICAN Series 3500 Resilient Wedge Gate Valve.
