14"–48" Resilient Wedge NRS Tapping Valves with Flanged x Mechanical Joint Ends - Spur Gear Actuator

Tapping valves shall be resilient seat type with bodies and bonnets made of ductile iron for 250 psig working pressure.

The valve shall be furnished with a flange-end connection on one end and a mechanical joint end on the opposite end. The flange shall be furnished with an alignment ring conforming to MSS SP-60 to help ensure true alignment of the valve and tapping sleeve. The mechanical joint end shall be furnished in accordance with ANSI/AWWA C153/A21.53 and MSS SP-113.

All tapping valves shall include a minimum 3/8" NPT pipe plug on the bonnet of the valve body to aid in the field testing of the valve.

The wedge shall be symmetrical and seal equally well with flow in either direction. Wedge guides shall be equipped with male guide covers. The use of auxiliary bronze rollers and plow-style shoes are not acceptable. The wedge nut shall be independent of the wedge and held in place on three sides by the wedge to prevent possible misalignment. Valves shall be Certified to NSF/ANSI/CAN 61 and NSF/ANSI/CAN 372.

All interior and exterior ferrous surfaces shall be protected against corrosion by fusion-bonded epoxy coating. Coating shall be applied prior to assembly to assure coverage of all exposed areas, including bolt holes. All valves 16" and larger shall be supplied with a spur gear for reduction of torque.

Tapping valve shall be AMERICAN 4"-48" Series 2500 ductile iron 250 psig rating (accepts full-size shell cutter).
