Smud Elected AWWA Vice President
Rosemary Smud, of Sacramento, Calif., has been elected one of four vice presidents of the American Water Works Association (AWWA). Smud will take office at the organization’s annual conference in Dallas in June.
Smud is a senior sales engineer for AMERICAN Ductile Iron Pipe’s Northwest California territory. She joined the company, headquartered in Birmingham, Ala., in 2003.
Smud has been an AWWA member for seven years. She is also a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
She received her bachelor’s degree in industrial and systems engineering from Georgia Tech and her MBA from the University of California-Davis.
AWWA is an international nonprofit association dedicated to safe water, and AMERICAN has been a corporate member of the organization for 103 years.
AMERICAN, founded in 1905, is a manufacturer of ductile iron pipe, spiral-welded steel pipe, fire hydrants and valves for the waterworks industry and electric-resistance steel pipe for the oil and natural gas industries.
