Pasco County Utilities has made headlines in the waterworks industry as a pioneer in the application of horizontal directional drilling (HDD). HDD is a technique in which pipe joints are assembled above ground and then pulled through a hole drilled under natural and manmade obstacles. HDD allows for environmentally friendly pipe installations under wetlands, rivers, creeks, highways, railroad tracks, buildings and other obstacles.

AMERICAN showcased its products and services to more than 11,000 water industry professionals who fund, design, build and operate water systems at ACE14 in Boston, Massachusetts.

Legislation to help lower the cost of repairing our nation’s water and wastewater infrastructure was signed into law by the president June 10, 2014.

AMERICAN Flow Control has been working with the EPA to obtain clarification of the EPA’s March 20, 2014 guidance document outlining water systems’ compliance with the American Iron and Steel (AIS) provision cited in the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2014.

The Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2014 contains an American Iron and Steel (AIS) provision in Section 436 requiring all Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF) and Drinking Water State Revolving Fund (DWSRF) recipients to use iron and steel products produced in the United States for all projects receiving assistance through Federal Fiscal Year 2014.
