Rankin Reelected Chair of CAPTE Board of Directors

Employee Development Specialist Kristie Rankin

Congratulations to Employee Development Specialist Kristie Rankin on her recent reelection as chair of the Central Alabama Partnership for Training and Employment (CAPTE) Board of Directors for Region IV. Rankin’s two-year term began August 18, 2021. She was initially appointed to the board in 2018 by Jefferson County Commission President Jimmie Stephens, and was nominated and elected chair in August 2019. The goal of CAPTE is to provide training and/or employment assistance to Alabama residents who are unemployed and underemployed, and help businesses identify and hire qualified individuals.

Rankin received her doctorate degree in higher education administration from the University of Alabama in 2008. She earned her master’s degree in rehab counseling, bachelor’s degree in psychology and education specialist (EdS) degree in community counseling from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She currently serves on the UAB College of Arts and Sciences Alumni Board as well, and earned certifications in HAZMAT/HAZWOPER, infectious disease and bloodborne program management.
