Julie H. Shedd was recently named senior vice president in charge of Human Resources and was elected to the board of management and board of directors.
Shedd joined AMERICAN in 2001 as a benefits and payroll specialist. Two years later, she began working in the Finance Division as a corporate benefits design specialist, a position she held until her promotion to director of Human Resources in 2013.
Shedd is a Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) and is certified as a Group Benefits Associate (GBA). She is a graduate of Momentum’s Birmingham Executive Leadership Program and serves on Junior Achievement’s Board of Directors. Shedd holds bachelor’s degrees in human resources management and marketing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
