On November 12, 2020, AMERICAN experts presented a live webinar for more than 500 water and wastewater professionals and students. The event, hosted by Water Online, discussed iron and steel pipeline resilience and why it matters when selecting pipe materials for installation.

AMERICAN SpiralWeld Pipe Company, a subsidiary of AMERICAN Cast Iron Pipe Company headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, is expanding its spiral-welded steel pipe operations to Paris, Texas. The plant is expected to be operational during the first quarter of 2021.

When the Hugh K. Leatherman Sr. Terminal opens in North Charleston in 2021, container traffic traveling to and from it will use the new Port Access Road, a direct route from I-26 that will reduce the need for commercial trucks to use local roads.

Eastern Parkway is a historic, heavily traveled road in the city of Louisville, Kentucky. To minimize environmental impacts and neighborhood disruptions, Louisville Water Company opted to install the pipe using an installation method known as slip lining.

As part of its plan to preserve and protect the Alluvial Aquifer, the Army Corps of Engineers is constructing an irrigation system that will bring water from the White River at DeValls Bluff to about 250,000 acres of farmland.
