More than a century later, AMERICAN's 2,000-acre Birmingham campus employees 1,600 people and serves as the headquarters for the company that now produces a diversified line of products for the waterworks and energy industries.

In 1963, AMERICAN expanded its product line with the manufacture of ERW steel pipe, establishing AMERICAN’s Steel Pipe Division. Today, AMERICAN Steel Pipe makes carbon steel pipe in diameters from 12.75" to 24", in lengths up to 100 feet.
