AMERICAN Glowing ‘A State of Teal’

The front of AMERICAN Cast Iron Pipe Company will be lit in teal at night throughout the month of September as part of a statewide awareness campaign called “A State of Teal.” The purpose is to bring awareness to gynecologic cancers. The campaign is sponsored by the Laura Crandall Brown Foundation, whose mission is to offer hope through research for early detection of ovarian cancer, empower communities through gynecologic cancer awareness and enrich lives through patient support.

AMERICAN has participated in A State of Teal since it was established four years ago. Last year, more than 40 municipalities and over 110 buildings and landmarks across the state were lit in teal. Other participants include the Alabama State Capitol, the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Alabama Power, Birmingham Barons and Regions Field, Huntsville Hospital and the Alabama Fire College in Tuscaloosa.
