Scott G. Murphy was elected Vice President Finance and Treasurer of AMERICAN Cast Iron Pipe Company in December 2020, upon the retirement of John M. Cook. Murphy joined AMERICAN in August 2019 as assistant vice president of Finance. He earned his master’s in business administration from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School and his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Georgia.

Murphy has more than 35 years’ experience in corporate finance and accounting. He served as chief financial officer for RMS Family Restaurants Inc. and then as a corporate controller for Blue Bird Corporation. Murphy was self-employed as a financial services consultant and advisor for several years, and worked as a financial executive with Birch Communications, a technology and telecom provider, for about six years.

Murphy is a native of Georgia, and he and his wife Caroline have been married 36 years. They have three children and six grandchildren.
