A groundbreaking for the Christ Health Center–Salvation Army Slossfield Annex took place August 5, marking a new chapter for the historic north Birmingham site.

What do student worker experiences look like at AMERICAN? Anything but ordinary. From the melt shop to sales strategy, from talent recruiting to electrical maintenance, four college students share their experiences in the AMERICAN Student Worker Program.

AMERICAN provided more than 54,000 feet of 42- and 48-inch ductile iron pipe, 27 resilient wedge gate valves and about 2,000 feet of 48-inch spiral-welded steel pipe for Hillsborough County’s $100 million South County Potable Water Transmission Main Project.

J.  Michael O’Brien, president and CEO of AMERICAN Cast Iron Pipe Company, was inducted into the state of Alabama Engineering Hall of Fame on February 22, 2025. Throughout his career, O’Brien has worked to enhance engineering education and the industry.

Christopher Jarrett has been named Vice President of Sales for AMERICAN Ductile Iron Pipe and AMERICAN SpiralWeld Pipe (ADIP/ASWP) effective March 1, 2025.

JDS partnered with AMERICAN to provide all the ductile iron pipe for this project, almost 120,000 feet of water and wastewater pipe in diameters 16 to 36 inches. Pipe was shipped once it was manufactured to a five-acre storage facility near the project site.
