An article by AMERICAN Flow Control Product Engineer John Helf is featured in the November 2025 issue of AWWA’s Opflow. The article demonstrates the minimal impact a reduced waterway in large diameter gate valves can have on the hydraulic performance of a system.

More than seven years after Hurricane Maria made landfall in Puerto Rico, recovery efforts continue. AMERICAN Ductile Iron Pipe and AMERICAN Flow Control are playing a key role in rebuilding Puerto Rico’s infrastructure.

Congratulations to AFC Senior Territory Manager Brian Anderson for being named Associate Member of the Year by the Oregon Association of Water Utilities (OAWU). This award recognizes associate members who consistently demonstrate a strong work ethic, integrity, leadership and a servant attitude.

AMERICAN provided more than 54,000 feet of 42- and 48-inch ductile iron pipe, 27 resilient wedge gate valves and about 2,000 feet of 48-inch spiral-welded steel pipe for Hillsborough County’s $100 million South County Potable Water Transmission Main Project.

Almost two years ago, a local lumber company contacted the village of Montgomery, Illinois’ Water & Sewer Department because its water meter was moving and causing a loud thumping throughout the building. The village researched what products were available to help and found the AFC SEMPER RPM.

Massmann received the 2024 Benjamin G. Mason Award from the Minnesota Section of the American Water Works Association for demonstrating exemplary service to the drinking water community and to Minnesota AWWA’s mission and goals.
