Albemarle, 40 miles east of Charlotte, had excess capacity in its water system and needed new customers to defray costs. Concord and Kannapolis, within shouting distance of Albemarle, needed a new source of supply but were stymied by the cost of enhancing their systems independently.

American Iron and Steel Requirements for Federal Consolidated Appropriations Act

How Does the Reduction of Lead in Drinking Water Act Impact AMERICAN Flow Control Product?

On January 4, 2011, the Reduction of Lead in Drinking Water Act was signed into federal law. It will go into effect January 4, 2014. In general, the federal law does not apply to the gate valves and fire hydrants manufactured by AMERICAN Flow Control. However, as of January 1, 2013, all resilient wedge gate valves and check valves manufactured by AMERICAN Flow Control meet the requirements of the new legislation.
