Blakely Appointed to AWWA’s Manufacturers and Associates Council

AMERICAN Ductile Iron Pipe and AMERICAN SpiralWeld Pipe Regional Sales Manager Jeff Blakely was recently appointed to the American Water Works Association’s Manufacturers and Associates Council (MAC). His three-year term begins in June 2021. MAC represents AWWA members in the manufacturing and service sectors, and provides policy input to the organization on behalf of its constituents. MAC is one of six councils within AWWA and council chairs serve on AWWA’s executive committee. Blakely joins AMERICAN Senior Sales Engineer Matt Rosenwald, who was appointed to MAC in April 2020.

Blakely received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of North Dakota. He joined AMERICAN in 2010 and has held sales and marketing roles in numerous territories. He is currently based in Colorado and his sales region includes 18 states, from Wisconsin to Washington. Blakely has held various offices on the section and association levels of AWWA, including Young Professionals Committee chair and Manufacturers and Associates Council liaison. He is also a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and National Utility Contractors Association and served on the ASCE Seismic Design of Buried Pipelines Task Committee.

AMERICAN has been an AWWA member company since 1907 and its employees serve in numerous volunteer positions. Founded in 1905 in Birmingham, Alabama, AMERICAN manufactures fire hydrants, valves, ductile iron pipe and spiral-welded steel pipe for the waterworks industry and high-frequency-welded steel pipe for the oil and natural gas industries. Its diversified product line also includes high-performance fire pumps, structural casings and pilings, static castings and specialty rubber products.
