Kyle G. Couture was named Marketing Services Manager for AMERICAN Ductile Iron Pipe (ADIP)/AMERICAN SpiralWeld Pipe (ASWP) effective June 1, 2024, following the retirement of Maury D. Gaston after 42 years of service.

A 28-year veteran with AMERICAN, Couture has been working with customers much of his career helping to specify, design and install AMERICAN products. “I am excited to step into this new role of advancing our product offerings to align with future demands, “Couture said. “And to tell our story. AMERICAN has been an innovator and leader in manufacturing products for the waterworks industry for almost 120 years. Our products are the building blocks of our nation’s infrastructure, ensuring people and communities have water for life, drinking, economic development and health.”

A native of Long Island, New York, Couture joined AMERICAN in 1996 after earning his mechanical engineering degree from Auburn University. He worked in the ADIP and ASWP Sales Divisions until 2002 when he became a project engineer in ASWP Customer Service. In 2005, Couture was promoted to assistant manager of ASWP Customer Service, and he was named ASWP territory manager in 2019.

Couture holds Professional Engineer registrations in Florida and Mississippi. He is an active member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and is involved with the development and maintenance of steel pipe standards with the American Water Works Association’s Steel Water Pipe Manufacturers Technical Advisory Committee. Couture also serves as vice president of the Steel Tank Institute/Steel Plate Fabricators Association (STI/SPFA) Board of Directors and chair of the organization’s Steel Pipe Section.
